Exciting news — Padme our Nubian goat had her first baby on 6/18/25 - which also happens to be our first Mini Nubian! 🤩

Here is the sweet new addition to the Shalom Farms family:

Meet Pauline (Pauli for short):

💖 How they’re doing:

It’s been a few weeks already, and Padme and Pauli are both doing great!

She loves to zoom around all the momma goats but since she’s the only kid left in the pen, they put up with her pretty easily.

Pauli is already a little heart breaker, and being the youngest and LAST baby goat on the farm, it’s going to be hard to let her go… we’ve actually decided we will keep her!

Little Pauli wraps up our 2025 kidding season for the goats, all that’s left for our baby season are the 2 cows in July.

Exciting news — Bluebelle gave birth on Tuesday 5/13/25 🎉

Here is the sweet new addition to the Shalom Farms family:

Number of babies: 1 heifer
Parents: Bluebelle & Rocky

Meet little Annabelle:

💖 How they’re doing:

Momma and baby are doing great! Bluebelle had little Annabelle all on her own and required no assistance (same as last year!). This baby girl is happy to be exploring around the pen and meeting the other mommas and can’t wait for her new friends to arrive in July.

Exciting news — Crunch had a Cinco de Mayo baby on 5/5/25!

💖 How they’re doing:

These two are doing great! We took them out of their momma/baby (smaller) pen and let them into the big pen with all other mommas and babies late last night (after they’d had over 24 hours of bonding together in the birthing pen).

We are so pleased with how both Star & Crunch have quickly taken to being first time mothers!

💖 How they’re doing:

Star and Stanley are both doing great! Stanley is growing really nicely, and we’ve even gotten Star on the milk stand a few times already to make sure her teats are in good condition and that she’s able to feed Mr. Stanley without issue - and she’s already a pro at the milk stand!

We’re excited for her to be a “star” milker this year 🤩

Meet the little ones:

(Note: we name all Cookie’s babies based on sweets)

• Chip - he’s a golden like his dad Brad, without the blue eyes

• Peppermint - she is light brown with some white and frosted ears

• Sundae - she is the largest of the 3, with white poll, frosted ears and nose, and blue eyes

💖 How they’re doing:

They are doing great, love to nap and play with their new friends.

This is Cinnamon’s first set of kids, and she’s doing a great job!

Her mom Merci was a great milker so we’re excited to continue on with her milking lines through Cinnamon and her twin Ginger.

Momma and babies are doing well!

We are so grateful that Jeff was in the barn when Merci started pushing, so he was ready and available to help get the kids dried off as it was still dangerously cold on Friday when they were born.

They’re so new that we haven’t gotten a lot of time to interact much or see their little personalities shine through, but they will have more energy in the next few days (especially as it begins to warm up more and more).

Next up: All of our sheep mommas should be due in March!

Exciting news—Daisy just gave birth on 2.14.25! 🎉

Here are the sweet new additions to the Shalom Farms family:

Number of babies: 3 (2 males and 1 female)
Parents: Daisy & Bucky

• Dorothy – 6.6 lb Female, “elf” ears, buckskin with small blaze on forehead

• Walter – 7.6 lb Male, “elf” ears, buckskin with dark head

• Edwin – 7.6 lb Male, “elf” ears, buckskin with large blaze on forehead, and lots of moon spots

💖 How they’re doing:

This trio of cuteness is doing well, even though they were born right in the middle of a couple cold snaps!

We are truly grateful that both Jeff and I were around starting chores PRECISELY when Daisy starting pushing so we were able to jump in and assist as needed to get the babies cleaned and dried off right away so they could get warm.

Any prayers are appreciated to help keep these little ones healthy, warm and safe and our next babies as well (especially if they are born while it’s still extremely cold)

— UPDATE: Daisy’s triplets were sold (all together!) and are now enjoying their new home and forever family in Raymond, NE

Next up: Merci is due next week!

On April Fools Monday, Daisy welcomed a beautiful and healthy set of twins to the farm!

Daisy had our first set of Mini Manchas last year (Honey & Maple) and our second set of Mini Mancha twins this year.

Boy (black & white with wattles & a pink nose) = Phoenix

Girl (black & white with wattles & a black nose) = Paris

On Easter Sunday, March 31st Lani welcomed 2 bouncing little ram lambs to the farm!

Lani is definitely very protective of these little guys, so we haven’t gotten very many great photos yet, but that should change in no time :)

On Saturday March 30th Astra welcomed a beautiful and healthy set of twins to the farm!

This was Astra’s first kidding so we are extremely pleased that she had twins (rather than triplets) so she would have less issues with learning to be a momma for 2 kids.
