We have our quarterly maintenance for the goats and sheep in Airtable (referral link) and we have our database set up to automatically notify us when it’s 2 weeks away from being hoof trimming time.
Here’s a quick snapshot of our Animal Management base for Hoof Trimming.
So every 3 months, we get an email saying it’s time to get ready for the big day.
We used to be able to get them all done in the same day, but now that we have 20+ goats, we choose to space it over the span of about a week or two.
Hoof Trimming - Goats
We love our Milk Stand from Premier1 so much that we splurged and bought a 2nd for the 2025 milking season - but these double as hoof trimming stands as well!
These girls don’t care that we’re trimming her little hooves, as long as there’s whole oats in her tray!
We picked up the minis (Penelope, Cookie & Sweet Pea) when they were 3 months old so we’ve been the only ones to ever trim their hooves for the last 3+ years. We’re all professionals now :)

We’ve got to have a slightly different approach with the full size LaManchas because they are quite bigger.
