Welcome to The Scoop!
Hey there, friend!
We’re Jeffrey and Lorraine Penner, the full-time farmers behind Shalom Farms (previously “Penner Mini Farms”), nestled just outside the heart of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Well, okay—full-time farmers might be a stretch since we also juggle full-time jobs at our local church, but that just means we thrive on good coffee, early mornings, and the occasional farm mishap that turns into a great story.
So, What’s This Farm About?
Simply put: faith, family, and farm animals.
We mostly raise Nigerian Dwarf goats (because mini goats are wonderful little creatures and are also quite easy to manage), American Blackbelly hair sheep, Pineywoods cattle, and chickens, all while being supervised by a duo of ornery farm cats.
Our goal?
To raise happy, healthy animals while keeping things as natural and sustainable as possible.
We believe in ethically raised, grass-fed, and grass-finished meat as well as raw goat milk & milk products —because knowing where your food comes from matters.
Know your farmer, know your food!
But if you're here just for the baby goat photos, we fully support that too.
The Shalom Farms Scoop
Farming isn’t always picture-perfect.
Sometimes it’s bottle-feeding a baby goat at 2pm, getting kicked by a very persistent sheep, or realizing the cows have once again tried to dismantle the float in their water tank.
We share the highs, the lows, and the "you won’t believe what happened today" moments in our newsletter, The Shalom Farms Scoop.
If you love small farm life, homegrown food, and the occasional reflection on faith and the land, you’re in the right place.
Stick Around!
We’d love to have you join us on this journey.

Thanks for stopping by,
Lorraine & Jeffrey
